Greetings from Breakneck Comics, where we are frantically trying to get you even more great comics! The first series of NECTAR has officially wrapped up! How did you like it? Yes, it started ‘slow-burn,’ but then, in typical Robinson fashion, it ramped up into insanity! EXCOMMUNICATED is winning people over with its complex religious mystery, the banter between the characters, and the stunning cover artwork! And we’ve got more to come! Now read on…

Happy July! (And Happy Birthday to the United States in a few days!) After the hectic insanity for us here at Breakneck HQ of the last few months, we have a relatively calm month ahead for you. You’ve got your final order cutoff (FOC) for ordering the NECTAR trade from your local comic shop (LCS). EXCOMMUNICATED Issue #3 is later this month, followed by the FOC for ordering Issue #4. Simple, elegant, and not quite as hectic as our usual months (so you can finally afford to spend some of your hard-earned cash on Batman or Daredevil this month instead of on all our goodness).

The NECTAR Trade Paperback is…Sweet.
(No pun intended.)
The first half of the year is over. Whew! What an amazing ride. Back those long, long months ago, Jeremy launched his aliens+serial killer novel, 30SEVEN! Then it was an immediate launch of NECTAR after that, with the surprise that speculators had gone ga-ga for all the amazing variant covers by Chris Shehan, Jonathan Wayshak, Maan House, Danny Luckert, Jason Shawn Alexander, Suspiria Vilchez, and Jeremy Robinson himself! The rest of March went by in a blur as Jeremy was frantically doing signings and helping me promote EXCOMMUNICATED—along with the release of the second issue of NECTAR, and the reprint of issue number 1, which got another murderer’s row of amazing variant covers from Vault Comics, plus sixty (60!) retail-store exclusive variants on top of those! So many that even Jeremy and I still haven’t seen all the different covers! As if that month wasn’t busy enough, Jeremy’s next novel (and one of my favorites), PARALLAX, hit the scene!
Then May rampaged into our lives with the always excellent Free Comic Book Day event in Rochester, NH, more signings for Jeremy at Jetpack Comics (and a first time signing at Midnight Comics in Manchester, NH), followed by the launch of EXCOMMUNICATED (with it’s amazing covers by Flaviano Armentaro, Tiago Palma, Jeremy again, Joshua Hixson, Ito, and Tyler Crook, to name just a few). Before we knew it, it was June, and we had more ‘Excomm,’ the conclusion of NECTAR, and an epic road trip from New England down to Maryland for an amazing signing with hundreds of folks at Third Eye Comics! Those folks really treated us well!
The Second half of the year is here, and we’re taking a single day to breathe. But starting tomorrow, we have another onslaught (we know that word is rarely spoken in comics, oh yes, but we’re taking it back) of excellence heading your way. We didn’t really know how (or if!) things were going to work. But now we’re building a machine. As I already said, we have the NECTAR trade coming soon, and EXCOMMUNICATED to wrap up with Issue 4 in August. But fear not! We already have our same art team from NECTAR working on a second series, called NECTAR: NIGHT OF SORROWS! We’re hoping to get you that series in the spring, and probably by this autumn we’ll be able to tell you what it’s about. But I can tell you that the scripts are all written, and Anna & Francesco are hard at work on Issue 2. Steve Canon is coloring Issue 1 right now! And for those worried about their new-found favorite pals of Josephine and Edimmu in EXCOMMUNICATED, the sequel series is already written (and titled: EXCOMMUNICATED: VITRAEL’S BLOOD), and we should have news for you about the art team starting that one very soon.

How about a little peek at some of that stunning Martello/Francini artwork?
But that’s not all! In August, Jeremy’s newest SF novel, SETTLE DOWN, will be released. (You knew he was a New York Times betselling author of close to 100 novels, right?) On the same day as that book, a super cool anthology from Titan Books edited by Jonathan Maberry & Henry Herz will release in hardcover. That anthology is called THE BIG BAD BOOK OF KAIJU, and it’ll feature tons of great short stories, including one from Jeremy and one from yours truly! September is bringing you the EXCOMMUNICATED trade paperback. October is New York Comic Con, and both Jeremy and I plan to be there, so he can do a signing at the Vault Comics booth, and I can schmooze with editors, as the editors do. While October will be the only month coming in the second half of the year, where we do not have a comic book release, we’re still hooking you up with a re-release of Jeremy’s ground-shaking kaiju novel, PROJECT NEMESIS, with a new cover from publisher AETHON: Vault, and it’ll be in hardcover in actual stores for the first time! No little thing, this novel, as Chad Stahelski (director of the John Wick series) fell in love with it, and is “this close” to getting a streaming network to sign off on a TV series. We’ve seen the first script and it’s fantastic! Now we just need Amazon or Paramount or someone to give us an enthusiastic ‘YES’ and that series will be on its way!

So. Many. Things. Let’s see. That leaves November and December. November will be dominated by two things, ROBINSONFEST and 1001. The Fest is our annual event we hold where we just hang out with cool friends and fans. Registration for this year’s event sadly just closed (with around 35 folks coming to chillax under the Florida sunshine with us). If you’ve just discovering Jeremy’s work now, through the comics, and missed out on signing up for the whole event, fear not: we’re setting up a comic book signing at the hotel in St. Augustine. It’ll be a ticketed event, and we’ll have all the details very soon in Jeremy’s Facebook group [see details below]. And, of course, you could always come hang out with us at the Fest in 2027, too! Once we have that one worked out, the details will be…you guessed it, on Jeremy’s FB Group page.
ONE ZERO ZERO ONE SAVES THE WORLD hits comic shops in November as well. Our third Breakneck Comics series! With stunning art from Tiago Palma and Manuel J. Rodriguez, this one is action- and creature-packed, and we can’t wait for you to see it.

So here’s another peek!
As if all that wasn’t enough, each year in December we run a little thing we like to call: “Twelve Days of Christmas in the Robinsonverse!” Once a day, for twelve days, we’ll be giving away one super-cool gift to a member of Jeremy’s Facebook Group, TRIBE. I might have mentioned that FB group above, no? It’s where you’ll find out everything first, get sneaks peeks, hear breaking news, have a chance to interact with Jeremy (and me) on a daily basis, and have a chance at winning cool swag once or twice a week. BUT, in December, after a year of Breakneck-paced craziness, I lose my mind and start handing out the really, really good stuff for twelve straight days, as a way to thank everyone for coming along with us on this amazing ride! So make sure to sign up to be a member of the TRIBE (it’s free!) and we’ll look forward to seeing you there!
Here are the dates you shouldn’t miss for this month:
- Last day for your LCS to order the NECTAR Trade Paperback: July 6th
- EXCOMMUNICATED #3 releases on the 22nd
- Last day to order EXCOMMUNICATED #4: July 27th
